The Trip to San Diego and the New Baby Boy!!

There is a new little boy that has come to live at Lisa & Steve's home!!

This is what was happening when I made it down to the hospital in San Diego at 4 A. M. on Sunday morning. Lisa and Steve had checked into the hospital around midnight so they were well on their way when I got there. I like this picture as it shows photos that they had brought in sitting on the table of their first little baby boy, Guinness. I thought that added a fun touch to the morning. (Donuts would have been better but ..... )

The top of the screen shows the baby's heart rate and the bottom is the contractions that had Lisa working so hard!!

Here are the new parents -to -be during the waiting time. At the end things went very, very fast. The doctor was checking Lisa and the doctor wasn't happy with how the baby was reacting. It was, "I don't like the way the heart rate is, lets see if you move & it will get better" to "we might need to do a C section" to "Get the OR ready we are taking this baby now!!"

Worried Daddy getting ready to go into the OR with Lisa. Not how they were hoping it would turn out but both mother and Baby are healthy and happy so all is well.
This is right after the birth while the baby was being wheeled into the nursery. Think I am happy? Think Steve is relieved? You would be right!!!

And now the pictures and information that everyone has been waiting for:

Jake Anthony Anderson

born

February 17, 2008
9:22 a. m.

Weighing at 8 pounds; 21 Inches long

"Baby Blue" eyes. Not his daddy's or Paul Newman's baby blues, the newborn blue. We will have to wait to see if he takes after Mom or Dad on this one.

Wondering why everyone outside the nursery window is crying and taking pictures! Thinking maybe he must be Elvis with all the flash blubs going off. He was still awake from the delivery. After this he didn't wake up much the rest of the day.

Sleeping beauty. Isn't he just the most wonderful looking newborn?

Daddy holding him for the first time.

Mom loving up on him. Lisa's still a little "out of it" here.

The new little family. Ahhh

All wrapped up with his hat on.

Sweet dreams. Wishing you and your parents years and years of love and happiness!!!
We love you!!

Beardsley is 2 years old!!!

Today is Mr. B's 2nd Birthday!! Hard to believe that in June we will have had him for two years. We started out this morning with a hike out at Rancho Sierra Vista in Newbury Park. It was so pretty since the rains. The hills are greening up nicely and the ponds had some water in them. It was good seeing things getting back to normal. Now we need a couple more rainly periods like we just had and things will be looking great. We haven't taken Beardsley out there for a while so we didn't know how he would make out but he did fine. By the time these two pictures were taken he was getting to the end of his energy. You can see the tongue hanging out!! He kept going the whole time and didn't complain at all. He had a great time smelling all the smells and greeting all the dogs that walked by us.

Mr. B and Momma

With Papa

With his new toy. He loves new things!
Later in the afternoon after he had a nice long nap he got his Birthday presents. A new stuffed animal that says something like I don't do cats and a Nylabone to chew on. It say it is a "Durable Pooch Pacifier" on the package. It seems to be doing the job right now as he is just sitting by us and chewing away. Papa just told him it sounded like it was pretty good!!

My Beautiful Little Boy.
Happy Birthday Special Dog!!

Jared is Engaged!!

It is Official: Jared and Awilda (Willie) are engaged!!

They have picked a mid July wedding date.

Here is the engagement picture

The happy couple
Jared met Willie through his sister when they were working at the movie theater. They are planning on having the wedding in his mother's backyard. It should be beautiful. With a July date there shouldn't be any of that cold white stuff hanging around!!
We are very excited for both of them and wish them the best of everything for years and years to come.
We love you guys!!!

The Women of Plymouth Circle

On January 29, 2008 I had what I called "An informal Coffee for the Women of Plymouth Circle" It was the first time that the women on the street got together for a social time. We had a great time just talking away. Everyone said they liked doing it and hoped that we could do it again. We have one neighbor that has lived here for 45 years and the shortest is 5 years. The one lady that couldn't make it is the short timer with only about 2 years here. There are a lot of them that have been here around 15 -20 years. Guess everyone knows what a great street we have and they just don't want to move!!

The Whole Gang minus one nieghbor and me of course. We even had a Granddaughter with us!!

The goodie table.

Cinnamon Rolls, Fruit, and even Cookies that two of the Women brought.
Coffee, Tea and Orange Juice

I had a old flyer that was Pat's from when she bought the house back in 1962 so I scanned it and made up a new one for everyone to look at. Quite a difference from what we are paying for these now!!

Oh how I would love to buy a home for $15,000 !! You can't even buy a car for that now.
Of course the wages weren't very much either! Guess it all evens out.

Xmas 2007 Part Three!!!

Before Christmas we went down to Draper and had dinner with Shannen and Jared and his girlfriend, Willie. It was a fun evening but I didn't get any pictures!! I will post a couple of pictures of the two of them in the next post.

On Christmas afternoon Shannen drove up in the fresh fallen snow to spend some time with all of us. Here she is with her daddy. His new San Diego Chargers hat is on his knee. He wore it during the playoff games but it didn't help on the last game and that was too bad!! They should have gone to the super bowl instead of those Giants. Oh well... Next year.

Here Shannen is on the new Wearing toy with Scott. Looks like fun if it wasn't so cold!!!!

The day after Christmas we went home and brought Shannen with us to spend the week. One of the places she really wanted to go was the beach so we headed down there. The day we went was sunny but cold and WINDY!! We were getting sandblasted the whole time we were there. We didn't stay long there!! At least she could say she put her toes into the ocean.

Shannen and Daddy trying to smile and not eat too much sand!!

After we left Mugu Rock Beach we drove down the Pacific Coast Highway for awhile. We ended up going back up Malibu Canyon Road and heading out to the King Gillette Ranch. http://web.venturacountystar.com/special/2007/07/soka/soka.html
As windy as it was at the beach and at home it was surprising how wonderfully calm it was there. This is a beautiful piece of land with the old Gillette House on it. King Gillette was the man that started Gillette Razors. The land has been though several hands since it was build. The last being Soka Universary. The park system just reopened it so there is a lot of work to be done but I like how quiet and peaceful it is. You can't go into the house but can walk all around it.

Shannen by one of the sycamore trees by the lake.

One of the other days we went up to the Stagecoach Inn in Newbury Park. Shannen wanted to go back up there and see if the Ghost Pierre showed up. I think she thought he did. This is his room. You can read about him here and then check out the rest of the museum site. If you haven't been there it is a grand house and fun to visit.

When we got home from the Inn Heather and Ethan and Evan and Roxy the dog stopped by for a visit. Here everyone is. They were able to stay for dinner and we had great fun talking and laughing. It was the perfect ending to the Xmas season.
Shannen flew home and Paul and I took the rest of the week to rest up from all our adventures!!

Xmas 2007 Part Two

Okay, I know this is very late but here is Part 2 of our xmas trips. After this there will be Part 3 and then I can move on to the next adventure.
(click on the pictues to enlarge so you can see everything.)

Paul, Mr. B and I drove out to Utah for the 25th. We stayed with Darcy and family for about a week. I was worried about the weather and if we would have to drive in the snow but it worked out great. I guess I was over worried about it as I'm sure Paul wouldn't have any problem but I'm still glad we didn't have to!!

The Wearing Christmas Tree

Jessy working on a present. I won't say who's present.

Kody with one of his toys. I think it is a Transformer but it might be power ranger. I don't remember and I can't tell!! I just double checked the enlarged picture and it is a Transformer. I knew everyone needed to know that!!

Kody and Mommy making cookies for Santa Claus. Now this is the picture that really shows the fact that this is a boy. He loved all parts of cookie making but once Mom got out the Power Tools that is when he really got excited!!

Adding the eggs

Ready to go in the oven.

Santa's Helper.

Jessy and Darcy also made cookies.

On Christmas eve soon after Darcy and I got back from the store and were settled into the house it started to snow. I thought it was perfect timing. It snowed all night and it was beautiful when we woke up on Christmas morning.

Beardsley loves the snow. I mean LOVES the snow. Here he is after one of his walks. With his long fur the snow clumps on the fur and it takes work to get it off to dry him off. He would stay out there lots longer than we wanted to be out in the cold.

Now Beardsley loves being in the snow but it is old hat to Sosha so she would rather stay inside and pretend she is Santa Claus!

Xmas eve

Here we were all dressed in thermals and overcoats and up drives the mailman. He was in short shelves!! I guess you do get use to it!!

Here is how Paul got dressed to go out and shovel the walk!! He got a little discourged when the snow was covering up his work as fast as he would shovel!

Jessy shoveled the back steps for the dogs to go down.

The Wearing House with all its lights on on Xmas eve.

Here we are at Christmas Eve dinner which in the Wearing house is the Big Dinner. Turkey and Tofurky with all the trimmings again. Writing about it is making me want it again!!

Unwrapping the first present on Christmas Eve. One on Christmas eve (which this year was new PJ's for everyone) and then the rest in the morning after Santa comes.
The Morning.
Now you would think that this is a picture of Kody with his present. Well, you would be wrong, it is a picture of Darcy with her present!! She loved the Transformers movie and the car in it that transformed into Bubblebee. If you gave it to her right now it would be the best gift in the whole wide world. She even got very excited about the toy car!!

White Christmas Morning

Getting ready to go outside to get the Big Family gift. Santa wrote a bunch of clues that the kids had to figure out and run around the house and find parts of the present. It was lots of fun for everyone.

And here is the new Toy that they got!!

Looking down the street and in the distance is the Salt Lake with the mountains covered with snow on Antelope Island.

Here is Mr B having a great time in the snow. This was just seconds before I slipped and fell down! Oh yes, that was lots and lots of fun.
We had a great time there and I will be writing more on the Utah trip in part 3.
